About the Collection

This series started in June after listening to a sermon from Downtown Presbyterian, "Learning to Lament." Although there may not seem like much of a connection by the title, my mind started thinking about all our joys and pains of life, and the connectedness of it all.

We are here to love one another, to bless and break the bread together, and to give freely of ourselves. What better way than at a table, where we can make room for all.

These chairs are twofold. They represent the here and now, and the responsibility we have to invite others to our table. But these chairs also represent a future seat at the table, one where we are always invited to feast. A seat that promises full restoration and healing.

My hope is that these chairs, every time you look at them, will remind you of your place at the table. How beautiful a worn down floor is when it is under a well used table and chairs.

There is a seat for you at the table, you are always welcome.
